Yesterday was our regular June meeting and of course it was well attended, to Aly Kirkpatrick, and others who were wondering if we would have our regular meeting in July, the answer is yes, since we decided yesterday that some of us would be in town, and available we will be there as usual on Saturday, July 5, at 10a, at the Art Center of the Ozarks. We will be doing several demonstrations this month, one at Silome Springs on Saturday, June 21, from 9a until about 4p. It will be in downtown Silome Springs, near the Museum, and we would love to have you come out and visit, or bring your lace, and help us with our demo. Also the following Sunday, June 22, we will be at the Prairie Grove Battlefield, from 1-4p. (Remember these events, suggest costumes), but please don't let that stop you. Also for members, don't forget, Wednesday, June 25, from 10a to about 11:30a we will be at Shiloh Museum for a day with the children, come prepared to help teach. Thanks Kathy Bailey Secretary, Dlg

Hi Ladies,
I visited with some of you back in early December at the Open House at Prairie Grove Battlefield. My husband I came in just as you were thinking about wrapping up for the day. I surprised you by knowing what bobbin lace is. Anyway, my bobbin lace pillow is now here (it was back in VA) and I would like to learn how to use it. I have some bobbins, a pattern for a snake bookmark and no memory of how to use them. Will your July meeting be held on the first Sat. with it being a holiday weekend? In the meantime are there any beginner books you would recommend?
Thanks,
Aly Kirkpatrick

Kathy, Just found you on the internet. I have some lacing equipment I would like to sell. I have a pillow I would be glad to donate to a new member, some bobbins and books. I thought maybe our grandaughers would be interested but so far no takers. It's time to clean house.

I had so much fun when I laced and was part of the club. But these fingers and eyes aren't working as well as they used to. Say "hello" to those who know me. I still am in touch with Lisa. She hasn't gone back to lacing since her husband had a stroke. He did pass over which was a blessing. Think of you all,

I just want to thank those of you who were able to make it for the demonstration in April. I understand it went well. We were well represented by our President, Peggy Bowen and our Treasurer Glenda Lee.

Don't forget that as of now our next demonstration is in Silome Springs on June 21 from 9a until around 5p. Again costumes are recommended. (but please don't let the lack of a costume stop you from coming) This demonstration will be held in the park in Downtown Silome Springs.

Also, don't forget, that our next meeting is on May 3, 2008 at the Art Center of the Ozarks, beginning at 10a.

Also if you have volunteer hours for the last year, please bring them with you to the meeting, or e-mail them to Peggy Bowen as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Kathy Bailey
Secretary of the Dogwood Lace Guild

Hi, I just thought that as Secretary of the Dogwood Lace Guild, It would be nice to introduce my self. I will try to post information, that I think is important to our guild and the comunity as I can. I would like to let you know that we will be doing a Demonstration of Lace making in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on April 19, 2008, at the Headquarters House in Downtown Fayetteville,on Dixson Street, in association with the re-enactment of the "Battle of Fayetteville." We will be there in the morning from about 9am. We would love to have you come out and see how lace is made, and if you are a lacemaker, please come out and demonstate along with us. Period costuming is recommended. Thanks

Our next Demonstration will be in June at the Park in Silome Springs on June 21 from 9a until 5p. I will try to write more as the event comes closer.

Also, don't forget we meet on the 1st Saturday of each month at 10a in Springdale, Arkansas, at the Art Center of the Ozarks. Our next meeting will be on May 3.2008

If you need and information, or if you would like to recommend an oppurtunity for us to Demonstrate the Art of Lace Making in your area, please contact us we would be glad to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Kathy Bailey,
Secetary of the Dogwood Lace Guild

Greetings from Eureka Springs.

I will be 88 years old and for my birthday I plan to have a special 'tea time".. with a fairly large display of my grandmother's lace collections.. She had been a milliner ( she was born 1851) and in her shop she had a wide variety of gifts, tatting supplies, lace collars of all sizes, and the "tea time" will be held at the FAMILY HERITAGE MUSEUM,, located in connection with the ONYX CAVE PARK,, about 3 miles east of Eureka Springs. I would be happy to send special maps so you can find the location easily...

These laces were all machine-made, but I also have a lovely example of Battenburg lace in my mother-in-laws silk slip made 1914 by the Irish nuns...

I would like to become a member of your group, if you wish to send me an application blank. to the below address..
Thank you..

I think there might be a problem with the link from IOLI. When I use the bookmark from the address you gave me it works fine. When I try to use the link on the IOLI website, I don't get to this site and can't find the right link from the woodpress site to get here. Otherwise it is great.

Hi fellow lacemakers,
Congratulations on you web page. I am your new Southern Regional Director and need to confirm your contact information for the IOLI Handbook. In the 2006-2007 Handbbook your contact person was Peggy Bowen. Is this information correct?
Thank you for the invitation to attend a meeting when in the area.
Sincerely,
